The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has released a film to promote tourism in Thailand called 'Amazing VR'. TAT has produced this Virtual Reality (VR) film on purpose to offer potential travelers to the country an insight into Thailand’s tourism products through advanced and interactive media.
TAT Governor Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, said the TAT was determined during the production of Amazing Thailand VR to allow tourists to view the country through state-of-the-art sensory experiences that could have the greatest impact.
“When using ‘Head-Mounted Display’ (HMD) viewers, the experience makes them feel like they are lead characters in a film about visiting Thailand. In the process, they might learn more reasons to fall in love with Thai cultural heritage.
Experience one features a journey into the ancient art of Muay Thai, as it takes viewers along intro the mesmerising Wai Khru ritual (paying respect to the Thai boxing master) that starts before any Thai fight. Then through various stages of the martial arts’ training, technic development and then as a fighter in a live Muay Thai boxing match that hits the canvas, gets up groggy yet continues the fight.
The second experience, HDM users step into a rural Thai local experience weaving traditional Thai silk as passed down from generation to generation. As your weaving skills grow with experience, you will personally weave the Thai costume of your choice. In the process learn about silk producing destinations each with its own local textile economy.
Experience three is a story about the Thai culinary origins and Thai gastronomy tourism. Learn agrarian practices from planting rice paddy during the start of the monsoon rains to the Autumn harvest. Grow other fresh farm foods and enjoy a farm to plate freshness, cook with delicious regional Thai dishes served with piping-hot jasmine rice.
Viewers can watch or download Amazing Thailand VR here or from other content providers. For best results wear HMD headgear.
